What is New2 ?

The New2 app for integration offers digital support to help expats and students find their way in their new society. New2 is a platform that brings together information, services, and networking opportunities in one space. We recognise the need to highlight a country’s unique cultural features, offering newcomers practical advice for everyday life so that they can quickly settle in and feel at home. We believe that intercultural skills and cross-cultural sensitivity are crucial for social integration.

Our texts, podcasts, and videos have been created to appeal to everyone from students to skilled employees, providing authentic insights into national culture. We want to rouse our users’ curiosity, not just to learn about their new society, but to widen their horizons fundamentally.The New2 team offers guidance on a journey between and among cultures!

Our Vision & Mission

New2 is launched in September 2021 in Germany and India. The app will be expanded to offer the same services for other countries in the future. In order to promote intercultural understanding on an equitable basis, the platform features the voices of different people with a range of backgrounds and perspectives. To achieve this, our team is made up of people from Germany and India, who each bring their own diverse experiences of migration to the project. This allows for an invaluable and comprehensive exchange of perspectives between Germany and India as we work together.

Our digital content is provided in several languages so that it can be easily accessed by anyone interested. We look forward to making our integration app available in more countries in the future.

Founding New2

An Indian and Hindi lecturer Anjana Singh, who lives in Germany, is the initiator and creative head of the New2 integration app and had the desire, based on her own experience, to develop a digital platform for newcomers that facilitates and enriches the process of integration. The trainer for intercultural skills brought on board the German Stephan Ottenbruch, organizer of the Indo-German Filmweek, who, as a connoisseur and lover of the Indian film world, has built relationships with Indian partners for many years. With the founding of New2, Anjana and Stephan have combined their years of experience. They want to initiate the digital and personal economic and social exchange and strengthen and simplify it with targeted information. Meet Our Team

Anjana Singh

Founder/ CEO

Anjana is the heart, mind and soul of New2 as one of our founders. Living in Germany as an Indian for almost three decades, Anjana’s desire to help others on their way to successful integration has only increased over time. She is tirelessly working to channel her constant flow of creative ideas for newcomers to Germany or India into New2. Anjana unites both country’s culture, knowledge and lifestyle – so her ability to switch between the Indian and the German perspective is a great asset for New2. You’ll find Anjana teaching Hindi, cooking food and making new friends when she is not in a meeting for New2.

Stephan Ottenbruch

Founder/ CFO

Stephan is the German behind the idea of New2. As one of the founders and CFO of New2 he is passionately committed to building bridges between India and Germany by starting with the Indo-German team he is leading. His fascination for the diverse Indian culture, the spicy cuisine and heart-warming hospitality of Indians has always drawn him towards India. When travelling and exploring new destinations is not possible, Stephan enjoys immersing himself into different parts of the world through movies. The unique feature of a marketplace for services is Stephan’s favorite part of the New2App.

Gunjan Agarwal

Social Media Manager and QA

Gunjan is New2’s Social Media Manager and is tirelessly working as our Software Tester to ensure satisfying results for all our users. Living in Germany for 7 years now, Gunjan calls the country her second home. Gunjan is very excited for New2 to be a comprehensive, reliable and authentic platform for information on daily life. She now encompasses the perfect mix of perspectives – she loves the colours, the vibrance and the diversity of her home India and admires German discipline and sense of responsibility. Apart from creating Social Media content, she enjoys cooking and reading.

Tanja Holbe

Content writer & Marketing manager

As an author for New2India and the marketing manager for New2, Tanja leverages her creativity, authentic experience and expertise to create unique content for us. Her fascination with India has led her to focus her Master's studies on the region of South Asia. She has explored the country extensively through volunteering and internships. She is most excited about the chance to exchange information and benefit from the perspectives of people who move to India on New2, since she would have wished for that during her own long-term stays in India. In her free time Tanja enjoys upcycling, painting, dancing and baking.

Stefanie Masnik

Podcast creator

Steffi is literally the voice of New2 since she is creating the content for our podcast. She is smitten by the Indian culture and especially by Indian films – she even learnt Hindi to follow every word her movie stars utter. Being part of an intercultural team and being able to help others to experience intercultural exchange in positive ways is a true gift for Steffi. For a long time she has been dreaming of visiting India. When that dream comes true she is looking forward to benefiting from the detailed information New2 is providing for India.
